Building is in our blood
Building has been part of the Stubbs family for generations.
The story began on Tasmania’s North-West Coast with Greg’s grandfather, Lou Stubbs. After learning his trade on projects across the region, Lou began taking on odd jobs around Penguin in 1937. By 1938, he had established his own building business, L.T. Stubbs, undertaking local and government projects. Lou’s son David Stubbs followed him into the industry, continuing the family’s strong connection with building and construction. Greg grew up around the trade, learning from his father before establishing his own company, Stubbs Design & Construction nearly 25 years ago.
Today, Greg brings more than 40 years of industry experience to every project. Stubbs Design & Construction delivers residential, civil and infrastructure projects across Tasmania, combining generations of practical knowledge with quality workmanship, integrity and a personalised approach.
The tradition continues today, with Greg’s two sons undertaking their carpentry apprenticeships and preparing to become the fourth generation of Stubbs builders.
From Lou’s early days building around Penguin to the homes and major infrastructure projects we deliver today, one thing has remained constant: Building is in our blood.
